Default Rear rotor help !!

Trying to remove the rear driver side rotor. Got the caliper off but the rotor is hung up on some hardware behind it. I can wiggle half way out but something got a hold of it from behind. Yanked it has hard as I could but I'm afraid I will break something.

I also tried applying and releasing the parking brake a few times thinking the shoes are holdig on to the rotor. Once its halfway out, I cannot turn the axle. When pushed back all the way in, the axle turns.

Any other other ideas on how I can remove this rotor? No issues with the other ones.

yeah it could just be seized together. next time, there is a threaded hole on the rotor near the center. use a matching bolt and thread it inside to it can push the rotor out easily off the hub.

Did you slacken off the parking brake shoes adjuster first, chances are they were stuck on the lip of the drum where no wear occurs. You will need to adjust these after replacement.

Default Can't get rear rotor off

1995 LS 400

Tried to push the rotor by putting two bolts in the two threaded bolt holes. Ended up stripping one.

Removed rubber dust plug in rear rotor looking for an adjuster to turn back-to get parking brakes pulled back. Can't find any adjuster. Rotated rotor all the way around looking for an adjuster thru this hole.

Can anyone offer any assistance?

you're sure the parking brake isn't on? If not you may need to get the BFH out and hammer it free. not great for the wheel bearings but ehh, do what you have to.

It's the parking brake holding the rotor. Checked twice including pulling parking brake pedal up by hand.

So.....hammer it off????

Is there an adjuster inside the rotor - like on old drum brakes, or is there a central adjuster somewhere underneath the middle of the car?

Okay - finally got the problem rotor off.

1. Since this is a rear wheel drive car, chock the front wheels - loosen lug nuts, and get both rear wheels off the ground.
2. Remove one wheel Or both if you'd like.
3. Rotate rotor so that inspection hole is at 6 o'clock position. Remove black rubber plug from inspection hole.
4. Remove 2 phillips head screws used during assembly to hold rotors on.
5. Place flat headed screwdriver into hole. Find "star" adjuster and rotate so that parking brakes are retracted.
6. Rotor should practically fall off. If not, you may have to place two bolts in the threaded holes in rotor to break "bond" holding rotor on rear axle assembly.
