no, the GS suspension will not work with an LS. the GS is more closely related to the IS.

I suppose with the right amount of ghetto-rigging, anything is possible. Your ride will probably be terrible. A member here by the name of Dengman managed to rig up MK3 Supra coilovers to work with his '98 LS. You can use coilovers from ANY year (you read that right) of LS400. So, anything from 1989-2000 *should* work (waiting for PureDrifter to reinforce this lol).

Just wait for the sale and buy the proper ones for the LS. You'll be happier in the long run and won't waste your time trying and failing at the swap attempt.

Now if Toyota had brought the Crown variants over, this may be a different story. That said, the down under guys have managed to "adapt" a multitude of parts. Given the price of Megan EZ, LP and others in the sub $1K, easier to save up and buy what is a known product.

You would hate to buy some used coils to discover the adjusting collars are seized.

Yep, my '91 LS400 has coilovers for a 95-00 LS400. they are identical from 1989-2000.

Not saying they will fit... But I'm just ASSuming if you were to change the lower cup of the shock body to fit with the correct chassis it would fit. It may or may not give you the right height. It may or may not give you the right spring balance ratio.

XX years from now if/when coilovers and these cars are scarce I guarantee someone will be trying to figure out the puzzle.

IE: If I were 80 a friend gave me some rare super cool JDM coilovers for a different chassis. I would look into rebuilding them, measure the shock body, spring length, etc. Compare to whats out there on the market and determine If it would worth my while to put them on.
