Hood Struts for '96 LS400
This seems to be a popular subject that pops up from time to time, yet in searching I did not find the answer.
The question is, I know the hood support struts are covered under the original warranty, but how about under the Lexus Extra Care warranty? I'm starting my final year on the EC warranty and it would sure be nice if this were a covered item.
Mine have finally given up the ghost and in COLD weather will no longer support the hood.
If not a warranty item, does anyone know approximately what they cost from the dealer (parts counter)? They look easy enough to replace that I'm sure I could do it myself.
Thanks!

not sure, but why dont you just call the dealership and talk to them about it?
if they cover it... then they should make themselve put on a grin and fix it for ya... if not... go somewhere else to fix it... not much of a super important thing to get it done with the dealership.

Thanks.
I'll check w/the dealer tomorrow re possible coverage under the Lexus Extra Care warranty and based on what he tells me will try Irontoad. The car is due to go in for its 50,000 mile checkup anyway. (yes, only 50k on a '96)
I've seen photos & read about the aftermarket options, but for now think I'd prefer to keep my Lexus "all Lexus". It's been very good to me. I think it's earned genuine Lexus parts & service.
