Default 98 LS400 Navigation/Climate and Stereo control module location

Few weeks ago I noticed that the main screen for Navigation/Climate and Stereo control is coming and going together with the sound. If switched the ignition on and off randomly would come alive, but lately could not get it working. Almost every panel options are not functional, except the Auto A/C and setting the temperatures left and right. Does anyone know if there is a module controlling all the above; some suggested there is a Multiplex Media control module doing this job. If so I would like to know the location of this module.

if the A/C compressor is not working, other than an actual A/C system problem, the ECU can be the issue as the main engine /tranny ECU controls the compressor operation.

if the radio display works fine but the climate display does not, the problem is almost always the climate display itself.

does the front defog light ever go into a 10 flashes in a row mode?

have you scanned the system for climate control DTC codes?

PS - The Multiplex Network Body ECU handles the security horn, interior lights, trunk solenoid, head lights, wipers, etc, but not climate control - no idea what a "Multiplex Media control module" is, but you don't have one.

sounds like the navi brain/amp unit itself is dying, the climate control is an independant system that is controlled through the navi screen.

The large screen does not display anything, no sound and none of the controls are working. The stereo power on/off **** does not work, the time can not be set because everything goes through the main display. The A/C works fine if the AUTO **** is activated, but no adjustments can be made, except the left and right temperature adjustments which are not part of the main display. I am convinced that there is a switching module somewhere changing functions from stereo to navigation and all other A/C options. If I could get the electrical diagram of that area would be easier to understand how this switching between functions works.

Is the navi brain into the left side of the trunk, the one with the little hard drive inside?

actually if the screen doesn't work then it's more likely the screen unit itself. I would just swap it for a stock pioneer radio and a normal '98-00 climate control unit.
