Default Engine Mounts Cracked/Split - Cost? OEM Mounts?

First gen LS400 needs new engine mounts (both sides) and trans mount. Is $650 a fair price to charge for the job? Also need to know if I should make sure they use OEM mounts for that price. OR is it OK to use any good quality brand mounts. Thanks all..

toyolex parts connection in FL can get you all three mounts for around 200, and a good shop should be able to put them in for around 200 or so, 650 is too much, sorry.

it is a considerable amount of labor (don't recall book hours though) but 4-6hrs in booked shop time wouldn't surprise me.

Actual time for all 3 mounts in a shop with the right tools shouldnt be much past 2.5-4hrs.

It took us 3 hours to change all three, working in a driveway.. used OEM tranny mount (cheap) and ebay motor mounts. (fit right up, hydraulic, no problems). for less than 200. on my 97 LS.

$300 is reasonable on labor
$35 is a good price on the real Lexus/Toyota tranny mount
$200 is a good price for a pair of the real Lexus/Toyota engine mounts

so I would say $550 would be a good deal for the job if all real Lexus parts are used, and unlike Billy, I strongly prefer the real Toyota parts for engine mounts

I did the tranny myself. Went to a shop to do engine. Bought 2 from sewell. The shop quoted me 150. When i picked it up he said took longer than book but stuck to his quote.

Ok, thanks all. I'm OK with paying slightly more than 'reasonable' (which you say is $550) because a) I don't know where else to go and b) the dealer is going to charge me a LOT more than $650. Also, the guys who will be working on my car are all Lexus certifeed technicians. So taking it to them is a 'peace of mind' benefit as well.

I have been assured that the parts will be OEM. So how long have these parts been discontinued? How can they be telling me that I will get OEM parts if they have been discontinued? Is this a recent development?

Still available, though I believe they've been given a new part no. of 12361-50101 (for '95-00 cars)

Whew, thanks. Can't wait to get this work done. Thought I heard a wonky (faint) clunk when I was slowing down in traffic today. Also, after reading up on all the bad things deteriorated mounts can do if left unattended, I was on that phone making an appointment ASAP.

according to Sewell Lexus, they have

the catalog page for my 96 says still available, but the ones for his 91 (p/n 12361-50101 you mentioned) it states have been discontinued

I thought all of these were the same part?

add it to your cart, shows up as in-stock for me just now, though I usually buy parts from carson as they're closer.

also, that part no. is for all '95-00 LS400s.
