Default how do you remove the boot lining on 1995 LS400?

Hi All, I'm trying to remove the boot lining underneath the rear parcel shelf to access the wiring to the rear window stop light. I can see what look like rivet heads and staples but none of the plastic fasteners like the rest of the boot lining. It doesn't pop off with moderate pressure and I didn't want to rip it off. Are those things rivets or some non-standard screw head? Are staples original or is that a home handyman job by previous owner?
The rear window stop light is working but there is no voltage to the the stop light wiring in the boot so the trailer, lhs and rhs stop lights don't work. It's not the globes and it's not an earth problem.
Any ideas?

It should just be plastic fasteners like the rest of the liner... It is on mine. Staples sounds like previous owner or so...

Doh! After prising off 3 of the staples and pulling down the boot lining I found that staples and rivets are in fact original. The staples hold a plastic clip in place that secures the boot lining to the rim of the boot. The way to remove the boot lining is to pull the lining backwards horizontally until the plastic clip comes out of a slot in the boot rim. See boot lining photos.
The rivets secure the parcel shelf boot lining to the section of the boot lining behind the rear seats.
Double Doh! You can't access the parcel shelf stop light from the boot. You access it from the parcel shelf by prising front edge upwards until the clips clear the hole the stop light is clipped into. See stop light photos.
Triple Doh! I still have't found the wiring problem. I temporarily got the stop lights working by running a wire from the parcel shelf stop light to the stop light wiring for the remaining stop lights.

if there is no voltage i would immediately check the wiring harness at the hinge of the boot (trunk) lid. they are known to fray and break from constant opens/closes of the lid.

staples are indeed factory which are NOT meant to be removed. they are almost all held in with pressure clips.

that's a first gen problem, nearly nonexistent on 2nd gen cars.

OP, you ruled out the stop light fuses, right?
