Are you referring to the 3rd brake light on the rear deck by the rear window?

well i have a 1990 LS . i dont know how different it is from your lex. but all the tools u need is a flat head screw driver and cover it with tissue. all u do is pry the sub casing from the interior of the lex. then i believe its exposed then. hope that helps

It's a 1998 LS400. There are no flathead plastic screws. There are some sort of clips behind the felt, one of which I pulled out. I don't know how to replace it, and don't want to continue to remove the felt, for fear that I won't be able to reinstall it.

Any ideas?

on my 94 ES... i had to pull on that brake light forever to get it, it finally just popped off..
