Default latest problems..

I just spent $320 on new front rotors and pads from Toyota.

I didn't have the cash to have someone else put them on so I did it myself. No more cheap imitation OEM brake parts anymore! The last set I got squealed and ground into the rotors.

Anyway, so after dropping that large $ amount, I've discovered a small tube/line that's been broken and is hanging underneath the car near the middle by the exhaust pipes. Have yet to have it checked out due to $ restraints and the fact that nothing weird is happening yet..

Next is my oil pan has a leak in it and I have to put almost a quart of oil in the car every 3 weks or so. I was told by a tech that I have to have a new pan, and whoever took it off last time put the transmission seal/gasket on the oil pan. !!

And continuing..as it has been for the last 6 months, the coolant resevoir is leaking from the top cap seal and last night after driving home, I noticed the car was smoking! I thought oh crap! turned out the be coolant dripping onto the engine. The coolant level is still pretty full, it''s just the heat buildup causing pressure on the cap/seal.

Anyone have any clues on what I should do? I think either way it's going to cost me money, and as usual every month I'm putting hundreds of $ into maintaining this car. But who says another used Lex isnt' going to do the same???

You dont need a new oil pan because it leaks. You need to reseal it. Resealing is very easy. Get an OEM or after market oil pan gasket. I think there are about 10 bolts holding the oil pan. Its very easy. I have an extra oil pan home. If you are interested, please let me know. We can trade for the MAF.

Matter of fact, i am taking my oil pan very soon. I will be installing a Mechanical Oil Temp Sender.

when the new gasket/seal is put in, the old stuff should be scrubbed really well. like, really really well. but yeah, i think scrubbing and resealing will save you $$$$$ getting a new pan.

my reservoir also leaking from the cap seal area. it is pretty slow. I plan to replace it when it gets worse. New reservoir cost about $110.00 from dealer. Not too bad. May be U should get a new one.

On the coolant leak It sounds as if you need a new pressure cap.Is your temprature ok.? the line or whatever hanging under the car.Is it an elec.wire?Try to give a better discription of hanging wire.
