so as most of u know i work for napa auto parts..one of our customers (a shop),has a 98 with a nav unit in it and whenever they turn the ac on the fuse blows. now they have concluded that the head unit is bad. any of you ever heard of this happening? and..buying a new one from the dealer is 1200.00 so is there any place that fixes them? e-bay? junk yard?craigslist? any suggestion and/or advice is appreciated ...PURE DRIFTER? whatcha got for me?

 

if it is the nav unit they can swap it out for a standard climate control and pioneer (non-nak) stereo headunit, all bolts in and plugs right in.

that being said, i havent heard of many navi units just randomly blowing, and if it's a fuse it sounds like there's a wiring short somewhere...
