Trunklid brake light
Need help replacing trunk lid brake light bulb on LS400. not sure how to get to bulb . have popped little door exposing wires etc. but don't see bulb and don't want to do damage.Service manual does not decribe procedure and owners manual says take to dealer. Thanks for any clarification in this matter.

what service manuel do you have.Mine has instructions to replace that bulb. The instructions are wrong but they are there.1st take off the trim panel that goes across Now you will be able to see the screws and nuts you will have to remove. When you have all that loose you need to pull the assmbly back from the car.Be very carefull with this,There is a plastic prong that engauges the part that goes around the side.If you twist the assmb. You can break off that prong. This instruction is from memory so it may not be perfect but it should give you enough info to do the job.Carpe Diem

I was able to figure out bulb replacement just lift flap unscrew one phillips screw and pull out assembly revealing 2 bulbs one has single filiment and one has double filiment . double filiment one was brake light. do not touch bulb with bare fingers . use paper towel to hold and keep body oils off. Thank you for responding
