Default anti lock sensor

Sometimes, doing ones own work on the cars can get expensive.I recently changed the rear struts on my 92 ls400.In doing the job,I messed up one of the antilock sensors.A new sensor cost over one hundred thirty dollars. This is a shame. The sensor is little more than a magnet with wires attached to it.Lexus is doing themselves no good with such parts prices.I for one ,when it comes time to buy another car, will check out some other makes.Carpe Diem.

Did you mess up the speed sensor or the brake pad wear sensor? I don't see anything in my documentation about an ABS sensor. If it was the speed sensor, I imagine it would cost more than $130. If you're talking about the brake pad wear sensor, which works with your description and pricing, they can be repaired depending on how they were broken.

The abs and trac sensor are one and the same.Dont confuse the brain box, with the sensors. The sensors are only two wires attached to a magnet. They send a signal to the brain. There is a steel cog wheel attached to the axel. When it rotates the sensor gets a signal from the cogs rotating and sends it on.There is no reason in h--l that sensor should cost so much. And I thought parts were expensive for my mercedes Carpe Diem.
