Default Wheel speed sensor replacement

I have a 95 ls400 and was replacing the rear left wheel speed sensor.

I got everything connected and in place except for the magnetic end piece that attaches to the wheel.

The wheel speed sensor seems to be a hair to big and doesnt slide into hole.

The hole is slightly rusty but I removed most of that.

The old one was wedged in place so tightly that it broke when I was taking it out and why it needed replacing.

So I guess the fit is supposed to be tight?
do I just hammer the sensor into place?
I didnt want to ruin the $120 sensor

Run a smile circular file by hand through opening (not too much!) and then you can twist in sensor.

ill take a picture later if I remember.

I got the new one in though.
Took a wire brush to clean out the hole more. didnt work.
I ended up shaving the sensor down with a knife then tapping it in place with a hammer wrapped in a rag.

The hole the sensor fits into tapers as it goes in making the fit very very tight.
the hammer got it in though.
