Default third center cat/resonator

hello there, i was wondering for CA cars including my 97 ls400, is the center middle piece after the two cats is considered to be the resonator or 3rd cat? i happened to get that replaced with a straight pipe but still have my two cats and the two resonators with muffler so i was wondering if it was okay and will i still pass smog? thanks in advanced.

varies but either way you won't get dinged on smog because techs don't look for it as it's not monitored by the ECU.

I did the same to my center resonator. That's really what it is... All the sensors are in front of it & should not affect emissions.
