Hoping to find a fix for "bubbles" under shifter bezel
#16
Its there for Sewell Lexus. I looked for this the other day. Its a wood cover plate. I have seen some on ebay for around a $100. For UCF10.
I have thought of taking 2000 grit sand paper over it and than clear coat it again. After maybe some compound to buff it up. Not sure.

Yeah, that's not what I'm talking about. I actually just had that refinished and re-installed a couple of days ago so the wood is like brand new. What I'm looking for is the plastic piece that goes directly around the shifter. In the UCF10 they are two separate pieces. The plastic shift bezel with the shift indicators (the wood piece has the cutout in the middle that goes around the piece I'm referring to) is what I'm looking for. If I get a moment today I'll take a picture of what I'm talking about.

Mine is a 90 and I am having the same ishue along with cracking varnish on the woodgrain. I'm thinking of just doing a carbonfiber vinyl wrap to all my interior peices then clear coating it after. Or just doing a custom airbrush job to it all since it'll be cheaper then buying new peices for the whole interior

If you are looking to refinish the wood piece, I recommend Kraft Customs out of Texas. I just had them refinish the wood console piece as well as re-wrapping my steering wheel in leather. Couldn't be happier with their work. The wheel was $250 and the wood refinish was $250. Took them about three weeks to complete.

Here are some pics of what I'm talking about. The first pic shows the black/clear plastic shifter bezel, that is surrounded by the separate wood piece. This is what I am looking for since it is kind of hazy. It looks even worse now that the surrounding wood is perfect again. The second and third pics show the new wood console trim which has been refinished to like-new condition. The pics are iphone pics, and don't show the true effect. Pretty awesome, no more cracks.

Shifter bezel repair
I too have the bubbles under the shift indicator although I did find a fix for the woodgrain riddled with cracks from heat and UV rays.
It's di-noc 3M Bubinga gloss woodgrain vinyl. Paid about 50.00 total for the entire restoration. The finish was gloss but I put three layers of aerosol clear semigloss polycrylic protectant. Probably should've bought full gloss instead but oh well. Looks pretty good to me. I might go back over it later. Use a razor blade and scissors for application! Be sure not to scratch it during application. I applied the vinyl then put on the protectant.
I also repainted the black bezel around the shifter with flat black spray paint after sanding it down with 220 grit then 800 grit just because I had it lying around.
