Default Transmission swap

I searched but found nothing. I own a 96 ls and was wondering if I can swap a 2000 ls transmission over with ecu without any issues at all? I would like the extra gear that the 5 speed automatic transmissions offer, and there's one at my local junkyard. If not, I might consider the first ucf20 5 speed swap. If I can figure out a way to get rid of the CELs.

most likely not, the ecu wiring is quite different. in terms of bolting up and what not, yeah. electronics would be the problem.
