Question engine vibration @ 1200 & 2000

NewB and first post. I have a 97 LS with 148k that has a shutter or small vibration at 1200 & 2000 RPM . You can fill it very faintly from inside the car while eather setting still or driving. Its almost like a miss in a cylinder or a injector gowing bad. Just not sure what? Have run injector cleaner through twice. People who owned the car before I purchased only used regular gas. Will inspect trottle body next. Car has very good performance otherwise. Any thoughts about this would be appreciated. thanx:

Has it had regular maintenance done? Timing belt, spark plugs, wires, cap/rotor etc?

timing belt done at 95k with sticker from a Arizona dealer. the maintenance only goes back 5 years and not dealer maintained. No wires, plugs, cap or rotor mentioned.

X2 on the tranny mount. Most common problem for vibration in an LS. Usually felt on the shifter ****. Even if it looks good when you examine it, take it out and look at it. Lots of members have removed thier tranny mount in two pieces after thinking it was good. It's not a hard job and a new one can be bought for around $50, or less.

Here's a good thread if you haven't come across it yet while you search for "engine vibration"; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...placement.html

Have you checked your motor mounts at all? Try power braking the car( put the car in drive while holding the brake and give it some gas) and watch to see if the motor shifts much. If the motor moves a lot ( more than an inch or so) then I'd have them looked at right away. I also agree with the tranny mount as being a big culprit in drivetrain vibration as well, and like others have said you can't just pry on it to see if the integrity of the mount is compromised you must remove it.

I had some pretty bad drivetrain vibration that started out as mph dependent and then turned into a vibration even in park. This was after my mechanic had looked the car over and was guessing the driveline was out of balance or the flex couplers were eaten up. The problem became so bad I count even drive the car anymore and after power braking it to then see the motor move over 4inches(done while on the lift) the driver side motor mount was tore in half and the passenger side was sunken in 1/4" and my rear tranny mount was ripped apart as well. Replaced all 3 mounts and it's like a brand new car!

Btw this was at 136k miles.

I just noticed my 2002 LS430 vibrating at 2,000 RPM, and it also starts about 1200. I get this while driving but feel it as well in park. I'll check all the mounts as well. Thanks!
