Default My 92 LS still has problems =\

Well I bought the car for cheap a while back and what happened was is that ny friend got the car running and then he said the tranny wouldn't shift past 1st. So I bought another tranny for like 200 and got it installed. So now after the new tranny got installed the car has same problems with the replacement so what he did was unplugged the ecu and then waited a while then plugged it back up. He then said it started up and worked fine earlier today. So when I come over to test drive it, it would not rev past 1st again. He thinks it's an electrical issue or the ecu so I have no clue what to do now. Have you guys experienced anything like this!??? Or have any advice on what else to look for.

Also, I noticed some blinking light in the dash! It's the norm light . Does that have anything to do with this situation?
Thanks for the help!

The ecu control the tranny and engine. Open it up and see if the capacitors leaking and if so clean it alcohol and q-tips and change the caps . You can google how to do it

He has the same problem with both trannys so it must be in the electrical.
The wire on the trunk hinge effects the electrical for the tranny, not sure if it's for your problem but someone else here will know. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/lighting/bulbout.html
Also, try pulling the codes to see if there is any, it might point you in the right direction. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/codereading.html

Also, the NORM light that is blinking indicates a problem with your air suspension. Mine's been blinking since I got the car.

the wires themselves aren't related, but when a multiplexed electrical system has shorts, weird things happen.
