Default Tranny differences

Who knows what exactly the differences between Toyota's A341E (SC4, LS4) and the A340E (Supra) is?

I'm especially interested if there are any differences in the electronics (ECU, solenoids etc.) or if the differences are mechanical only.

I've got a little 'tranny upgrade project' I'm thinking about. For that, I need to get as many in depth infos on those two trannies I can get.

Thanks ...

They're basically the same, the torque converter is different, and the difference in shifting is electronic, the valve bodies are the same.

Default So it's the ECU?

Hmmm ... not sure if I understand. Are u saying it's a different ECU, or is it the same ECU running a different program?

The reason for my question is that I may have found a tranny controller which lets you control a number of parameters of your tranny, such as shift points and line pressure etc. It appears they have an application for the A340E, but not for the A341E. So I wonder if it would work an the SC4 or not.

Cool,tell us more,please.
I'm afraid for the life of my auto, have been since I got the car and noticed just how slushy the shifts are.
