i need help please ! ! ! my reverse indicator light wont go off when i turn on my headlights and the car wont shift gears i cheaked the wire harness in the left truck hinge and there was 3 wires broken i re did them and the car worked fine for a few days now its back. i checked the wires again they look good but the lights still on. im lost please someone help.

 

Well, if you fixed the wires and it worked for a few days it's probably the same thing wrong now but in a different part of the wire. It stretches and pulls apart at the trunk hinge so it, more then likely, pulled farther down the wire and split. Follow the wire and check every inch of it.

 

ok ill check again. also i forgot to mention a friend and i just put a tranny in. do u think the netural safety switch might have somthing to do with it? i was looking around online and someone said its possible. also the car starts in netural is this suppose to be?

 

Yes it's supposed to start in neutral. Now, if it starts in gear then ya got problems with the neutral safety switch. Recheck everything you did when you put the tranny in. Did this happen with the old tranny? If not then it's something you did with the install.

 

this didnt happen with the old tranny. and i had the new one in for a week with no problems b4 my alternator went out so i replaced it since then ive had problems with the reverse indicator light being on. but like i said i fixed it for acouple days with the truck hinge harness. then it came back.
