Oil Filter
I was going through our garage and thought about changing my oil in my 93 LS400. I found a new STP oil filter #S3614 not used yet inside the box. I know it fits 4runners but was wondering if anyone knows if it'll fit in my LS? Any help would be appreciated.
The Mobil 1 filters are easily the best out there, much heavier and stronger than cheapos. Sometimes Autozone will do an oil+filter deal that's quite attractive.
The crappy filter I undid a few weeks ago on my new LS literally tore up when I tried to undo it with a filter wrench. A mobil 1 would never do that.

wix makes the best filters on the market..they just came out with the platinum filter that surpasses the gold..its a fiberglass media and is especially made for people who use synthetic oil and also for people who let the mileage go past the 3,000 mile interval

This is the one I've been using, http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=2217 . I think I'll get this one next time to try it out for around the same price, http://www.amsoil.com/catalog.aspx?code=Ea15k51-EA. I think Amsoil recently came out with this application for our cars.
You are kidding right? Do you really think everything that says "Lexus" on it is better than all after market stuff? Just remember one thing, Lexus or Toyota don't make anything. They contract it out and most after market things are made to their specs.
I don't think its better than ALL the aftermarket filters, but i believe better than most. to each its own, OEM filter works fine. By all means get aftermarket if you want.
You ask 10 mechanics, you will get at least 5 different answers. To each his own. I use Fram, not b/c it's better, just b/c that's all I've ever used.
