Monday [4/25/11] I picked up a 1997 Lexus LS400 Coach Edition with just barely 83,xxx on the clock. I love this car, and it's in almost excellent condition. The upper bumper piece is a little faded, and there's a scratch on the front drivers side door. The interior is immaculate and even has the Coach floormats, which unfortunately I cannot find anywhere! The car does need a new P/S pump, two front brake hoses, and a belt job, but for what I paid for it I can't complain.

A little background info for anyone who's still reading and interested. My first car was a 2000 Civic EX, which I still currently have. It's been my DD for the past 7, almost 8 years. I've had it since I was 15 years old, and I still love this car. Great memories, great gas mileage, and it's never done me wrong. I messed with it here and there, but nothing worth talking about. I did a couple of Auto-X events but nothing significant. It currently has 178,xxx on the original engine and trans and still runs great.

I also have a 2007 GSX-R 600 which is my track/race bike. I do track days with TPM, and hope to do some racing with CCS late this season/start of next season.

How long you been racing the bikes? That's a sick rolling shot.

 

Ok. What'd you pay?? I love it love it. 83k sounds good to me!! I still have my '94 integra in addition to my '92 LS. The Teg has 270K and still runs like a champ... different animal.

I paid $6,800 after all said and done. I've always been a Honda fan, and as long as you do basic maintenance they will run forever!

Welcome to CL. Nice Coach Edition ya got there and at a nice price to boot. Get those few things fixed and you'll be all set for a while. I'd look into doing the timing belt soon. It's suggested for 90K but you sure don't want that to snap, then you'd be looking at some BIG trouble. If you can do the work yourself there is tutorials around to help ya out and you can find a good kit for less than $500. If you have questions, and you can't find them with the search, we'll be happy to answer them.

 

Thanks! After the basic maintenance and timing belt job I'll probably sit on it for a couple months and enjoy the car. I'd like to get lower the car with a aggressive wheel and tire combo, and possibly some audio stuff, but other than that I'm not going to mess with it too much.

Yeah, the car is sitting until I do the belt job. I actually have the timing belt sitting here next to me at work. I've searched around, and I'm very impressed with the people and information on this site. Thanks so much for the info and welcome.
