Re-Setting Brake Warning Light or Sensor problem?
94 LS 400:
I was experiencing a little front rotor warp & decided to go ahead and change all 4 rotors & pads.
BTW: ordered 4 Bradi rotors from ricambi sport
ricambisport.com
around $300 delivered
With Rotex Pads from a seperate source:
Brake Warehouse
Randy ( Owner )
Contact: 800-814-0702
I have been impressed with the quality of the rotor & pad , but my Brake Warning light did not disengage.
What more do I need to do? Are the warning sensors an item that I can buy seperately & replace?
Thanks, MC

I had the same problem and it occured after I canged the rear rotors. If you bled the brake lines check your fluid level on the master cylinder. There is a sensor in the brake fluid resorvior and the level may be low. This is the most common cause.
If this doesn't solve the problem, the actual line may need adjustment. It costs about a half hour of labor at the dealer which is about $42. I recommend the dealer for this one, because I went to an independant shop and they didn't know how to make the adjustment.

Adjust Parking Brake cable tension?
"The actual line may need adjusting"
I have checked the fluid level & it is not the problem. Are you saying that incorrect tension in the Parking Brake cable may be keeping the light on?
I was thinking that a wear sensor had gone bad at one of the four cylinders & wanted to see if they were sold seperately by Lexus dealers.
There looks like there is a connection in the line that allows you to change these out.
Checked with Bell Lexus
Sensors are $66.10 each!!
Part # 47771-50030F
Rear: 47771-50040R

Which warning light won't go out? Is it the square one that says brake or is it the little red circle with dashed lines around it? The latter is the pad wear warning. If it's the pad sensor, search for my post entitled "brake pad wear sensors" in the LS400 forum. That'll answer your questions. If it's the square light, you probably need to have your emergency brake line adjusted.

Sensor Repair
Great Stuff Fusion Man!
Just the info I was looking for.
I have the red-circle with dashed lines warning light.
I will try disconnecting the battery first & then move on to your solder method.
I was hoping we could find an OEM source for that part or a generic equivalent , which is absolute thievery at $120 msrp.

Brake Update
Disconnecting the Battery did not help my problem
Next I will get out my soldering gun & go to work on the sensors. At least I have it narrowed down to one of the fronts.
Don't know who to credit the below solution to:
"I repaired my wear sensors, no more warning light. At $120 each for a consumable, I'd rather disable the system like 2UX31 YM did. But by simply adding a layer of solder to the face of the sensor, contact was restored and the sensor should function as it did before. When the sensor hits the rotor and wears off the solder, contact will be broken again causing the warning light".
I'll let ya know soon.

This is really throwing me a beating.
I had the connection to both sensors disconnected & closed the loop/circuit with jumpers & the light remained on.
I just don't get it???

Did you reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery after jumping the sensors? You need to clear the error signal. Otherwise, try the solder method. Maybe there wasn't a solid enough connection when you jumped them. Make sure you checked all four sensors.
