Default 1998 rear suspension bush search.

I have the same problem with my 1998 LS on both sides. The car has 300K miles on it. With the rear wheels off the ground I have 3mm of play pulling the bottom of the tire in and out by hand. The bush is one of two that
Lexus won't supply. Lexus only offer the rear axle carriers complete at $350 each.

Does anyone know where we can find replacement bushes?

There must be a cheaper way. Today I have looked into the "Lexus" route to replace these bushes. New axle carriers plus wheel bearings, inner and outer seals, dust covers and maybe ABS sensors etc. That comes to at least $1100 and maybe $1500 if I need the ABS sensors before the 6-8 hours labour. All this for two failed rubber bushes! There must be another option. Help!

Buy adus 505. Drop the arm and take out the old bushings. I used a reciprocating saw to take out the outer ring of the oem bushing. Adus 505 is 2 pieces so no need for a press. Dont forget to lube them. Easy. I did this myself a few months ago.

If you replace an axle carrier I am told you can not satisfactorily remove the wheel bearing and reinstall it in the new carrier. To remove the bearing you have to press on the inner bearing sleeve and this causes the outer sleeve to distort. Used seals and dust covers are scrap too. I am going to find or have manufactured polyurethane bushes for my rear suspension. It will take a week or two. I will keep you posted.

Does anyone know what the dimensions of the Adus bushes are? Length, diameter and bore?
