Default Why use the BeatSonic adapter....?

Thinking of changing my head unit to something newer for back-up cam and nav. I see the beatsonic but haven't figured out how come I need to spend the big bucks on it just to hook up a unit to the car's wiring as there are must be other alternatives.

My model is a 1998 LS400 regular stereo.

Any thoughts please chime in. I read the audio set-up thread.

Thanks!

Word on the forums is that the beatsonic takes the figuring out of the equation and allows use of the factory subwoofer.

People use the beatsonic to retain the factory sub. If you don't want it or have an aftermarket one, A Metra harness will work just fine.

it includes all UCF20/21 cars. As far as I know the Metra harness stopped being the right tool for the job by the '93 model cars

I have a beatsonic SLA-21 dash kit & harness in my celsior for the simple fact that i didnt want to splice and chase down wires. I like it to be simply plug and play also I was able to retain my factory sub/amp and use my aftermarket one at the same time, but I just unplugged it and can plug it all back in when I go back to stock soon. Also I got mine for roughly $120 rather than the normal $300 you see since it was used.

If you have a 98-00 LS400, you'll need the SLA-22 kit. I just got mine's, it was a grip......but think about it, you don't have to buy a separate sub and amp for your head unit. It's mad expensive, I agree, but I tried all the stuff out there, and none of the metra or scosche harness fits. I didn't feel like splicing wires and figuring how to make a harness, and I didn't like the idea of running speakers wires to each speaker to bypass the amp. Anyways, it's up to you, there's a hard way and there's an easy way.

I guess it boils down to if you want to retain any factory equipment. I personally replaced everything so I went the Metra route with no issues.

I didnt get the BS since I planned on an after market set up. Its been almost a year and my stock audio is horrible without the stock amp/woofer.
