I recently purchased my wife a 91 LS400 with a blown head gasket. I purchased this car from the heart of Richmond VA in the (HOOD). This car came on dope boy 20's with a system and all for the price of $900. I was just interested in the car and plan to sell the 20's and music. This is where it gets funky, after getting under the hood I noticed some repairs that I just didn't understand. Number one was the positive cable for the amp went throught the engine harness. Yes a small hole was cut into the rubber surrounding the engine wire harness at the firewall and the amp wire was forced into the car, under the carpet and on into the truck. Number two was the e-fans were wired straight from the battery and the fuse box with speaker wire. Need I really say more, but number 3 here I had to take a pic. Part of a cardboard box was used to make a gasket, just look for yourself.

Just looks like regular gasket material. (Cut your own) It looks a bit thick though.
Is there some lakes he's been driving through? Seems like excessive water spray on that engine.

No not make your own gasket, its part of a cardboard box lid, lol. And that water you see is from a female driving the car while overheating due to the electric fans failing causing the radiator to explode releasing water and antifreeze over 90% of the engine and bay.
