Default Just got LS400

Never thought I'd get a burgundy car but here it is... I didn't want another car payment and wanted to keep it under $3000 so high mileage car was only option. So it's got 208K miles so I test drove it two time for about an hour looking for signs of any leaks but I found none. A/C was on for about an hour but it kept blowing cold. Cluster was perfect, everything worked. I decided to buy it, then she showed me the pink slip with a receipt for a new engine done 30K miles ago. Even key fob is working. Interior is decent, cracked leather but no rips. Asking price $2800, but getting it for $2300 with smog done by seller.

Now bads:
-Climate control LCD is bad
-Keyless entry works but driver side doesn't seem to lock/unlock but it'll work if I do it manually. Anyone know why?
-Front bumper can use a repaint but not bad
-Right rear door has a good size dent($300) fix
-Driver seatbelt is slow to retract

This car should be good for few years and my Z can be stored in garage for weekend driving.

Now pics:

Still got these wheels from my other lexus should I keep the wheels or swap with these?

More pics to follow...

Personally I like the burgandy, it looks real nice with that tint. Although the wheels that are on it look decent I think your other wheels would look better, they're not so open. As for high mileage, you know that isn't too much for an LS. Is the "new" engine new or is it just different?

uuuuu: I think it's a 94.

Is that what year they started putting the "LS 400" badge on the trunk? I thought that was 1995 (2nd gen)

Nice find!!! High Mileage is nothing on a ls with proper maintenance. I think yo should swap with the sc wheels to see what it looks like or find some nice stockies for now.

Mine's a 92. Just got it home. So far so good. Check Engine Light was briefly on for a minute or so then turned off by itself... weird. She gave me two days trial period. For any reason I can return the car minus $250 hehe. I didn't test the horn until I bought it and it's not working lol. It's an amazing vehicle for the age!

I think it was more of a rebuild. It cost $2400 3 yrs ago.

I thought it was '94 they started putting that badge on, I've never seen 'em on a '92. Also what about the gold badges, weren't they every five years? Ya learn something new every day. Somebody could have just changed the badges though.

My '94 didn't come with the "LS400", none of the 1st gen cars I looked at had one.

in the mid 90s dealerships started putting the LS400 badges on 1st gen cars when they were reselling them. the gold badges were also dealership options and not restricted to any particular year.
