what's up guys. i just got a 97 ls400 with nakamichi and the sub is not working and i want to replace it with an aftermarket one. i been reading for about 3 days now and not sure if the sub is 8" or 10". i just want a sub that will replace the old nakamichi without adding an extra amp, but if i can't find one that will replace it, i am willing to add an amp. any ideas which subs will work with the stock nakamichi amp? i know that it needs a free-air sub, but not sure if i need a 5ohm or 2ohm one. 5ohm for nakamichi and 2ohm for the rest? how many watts? i know if i add an amp, i don't have to worry about the ohm, but for now, i want to just replace the sup without adding an amp.

to use the stock amp it has to be 12ohm like the original. you can get yours re coned here

iirc the nakamichi subs are 12ohm. it should state the ohm on the magnet of the one in your car now. have you checked it?

ok. so i fanilly got a chance to take a look at the sub. it is an 8 inch with 6 omh. any know if there is any sub will fit these specs? thanks
