Arrow need help on replacing stock 10' sub and amp..

i was wondering if i can replace the stock 10' sub with any aftermarket 10's? also, if i replaced the stock 10' sub does that mean i will need a new amp?

i was thinking of replacing the sub with a jl audio10w3 would this fit?... would it be better off with a aftermartket amp, what do you recommend?

You wont gain anything with just replacing the subwoofer. You need an aftermarket amp and a sub in an enclosure box in the trunk to thump.

if i were to replace the amp, would that increase the performance of the current sub?

sorry, also have another question. Does replacing the amp mean a lot of rewiring or is it plug and play

btw for the es300, how many watts is that sub?

if you get an aftermarket amp to power a stock sub it won't sound as good. You should just get the sub and amp aftermarket.

U actually dont replace the stock amp, you just tap into the sub speaker wires and feed that to a line level convertor and feed that to your aftermarket amp to power the sub. OEM amps are so small and underpowered.

You have to do some wiring, there's no way around it.

This is true if you plan on using an aftermarket amp. I used some Monster RCA cables I had, cut them in half and used some T-taps to splice into the factory amp input harness in the trunk. It's pretty easy because it's already line level, no converter nescessary. For the head unit Metra makes an adapter that plugs into the factory harness and has line level for the front/rear speakers as well as wires to power your amp. I only used the remote wire for turning the amp on and off because I didn't want to use tiny power wires. All that' s needed is to run new wires to your speakers. Saved me alot of time and frustration.
