Sputter after replacing EGR Pipe

Sputter after replacing EGR Pipe
So I just had the EGR pipe replaced on my 96 LS400, acceleration and pickup are so much better, however I still here a sputter while revving the engine while parked. Mechanic says the exhaust system just needs to be adjusted, can it be that he did a bad job, he went in through the manifold?
