Default Ebay Control Arms

Hey anyone tried these out before the price alone makes me just want to try them since I need to replace mine here over the winter as well as the rears to get rid of the clunk over bumps.

But this price just seems too good to be even a somewhat good product.

I would bet that these are being sourced from the same Chinese manufacturer that the Arnottindustries.com UCA's are coming from... The boots covering the ball joints are of low quality and tear... Here's a thread for the Arnott issue... Given all of that, I would still probably buy them since the price of the OEM's is rediculous. I'm waiting for replacements from Arnott for mine, and then I plan to try to find some better quality boots to install on them before I put them on the car. They seem to work fine other than the boot issue.

Yea, I had seen that Jim and for the price your right you could still replace them every 2 years and over OEM you would still be saving.

These were the others I had been looking at about the price of both above ones for just one of these.

Do you have any reccomendations for manufacturers for the rears? Since the clunk it getting really annoying.

The rear OEM's are reasonable, so I'd stick with OEM UCA's in the rear. Maybe $125 each online.

I bought some on ebay for my honda from some place in canada and they lasted 10-15k miles, it will end up costing you more paying for labor to keep replacing them, better to get the oem, you get a discount at sewell lexus when you register with your clublexus username

^^ This is true, but also I don't pay labor since I do 90% of the stuff myself.

Just to clarify the Rear UCA in this pic is #48770/90

So I have been putting off getting them, went to get my alignment today since I put the snow wheels on...anyways the Front upper UCA is shot and they said it was pointless to do an alignment until I got a new one.

Im back in school now so money is a wee bit tighter than it used to be but I feel like maybe I should just buy a used one from ebay and use it till I get the extra cash for 2 new front UCAS from sewell. Any thoughts?

How much is a used UCA compared to a tire?

If the used UCA is worn you still will not be able to get an alignment. If it is passable you have part cost + alignment. Then when you have $$ for a new UCA the routine repeats. That seems more expensive in my view.

If the tire isn't a hi-po, I'd keep driving it until you have the $ to do the drill completely. However if there becomes a safety issue with the excess wear, that is more important to care for.

Good, point. They are just snow tires on there 3rd season infact so I would be more inclined to agree and say just run them through the season on the bad UCA.

I bought and installed the APX's for $130 each from Ebay. Installed nicely. Only put a few thousand miles on since. Big driving improvement as mine were shot. Yes, they're all likley made in China. Time will tell...........

Just a general rule of thumb, you get what you pay for, with a few exceptions. With a 91', no need to pay full dealer price, there's enough good salvage yards and parts places you can probably find a pretty decent replacement without spending a ton. I just put all new Napa bushings on my brother-in-law's Integra for $289, including adjustable UCAs. With that being said, good luck with the hunt, and let us know what you find out.

Except in the case of OEM control arms, for the price of them I believe they're constructed of titanium
