Anyone heard good or bad about this place? I just ordered parts and they were almost 60% cheaper than dealer.

They have some great prices, and include aftermarket brands in their listings as well. It seems the parts that have "Nippon" as the brand or the ones that have no brand listed are OEM (with "Nippon" being Japanese-made and blank being domestic-made). It'd be nice if they listed the OEM part # instead of just their own part #s. Although you can search by OEM part # on their site.

I could've saved $85 on an O2 sensor for a Honda if I had gone through this site instead!

Oh yes, and free UPS ground shipping on all orders above $50.

Sorry I can't comment whether this outfit is good or bad as I've never used them before, but they do look quite professional.

And thanks for the heads up! Wouldn't have known about them otherwise.

I got lucky and they had everything, i would say keep this site as an alternate for parts. I just hope after i go through all the trouble of installing timing belt and water pump, they won't fail because of inferior parts. They were very helpful on the phone with tips and seemed to know what they were talking about.

I like the Parts Bin site better and it seems their prices are cheaper, but it's good to have alternatives if one site doesn't have what you need. Anyone know of any others?

My local Lexus dealer sells parts at way ABOVE list price. They sell the domestic-made ~$4 OEM oil filter for $13.99! It's ridiculous.

based on the info in this post, I ordered a few different types of filters, 2 types for '99 LS400, and 2 same 2 types for a 92 Toyota MR2.

Here are my comments:
No brand Oil Filter for Lexus: These are made by a company called "FUL", and on the packaging it says "made in Thailand". The filter material is pleated as determied by looking into the filter opening with a flashlight. construction looks like ~ fram quality.

Nippon Oil Filter for Lexus: These are made by a company called "Nippon", and on the packaging it says "made in Malaysia". Filter material is also pleated. This filter looks about the same size as the "FUL" filter. It does look like a higher quality construction, but I dont know the characteristics of the filter material.

No brand Oil Filter for MR2: also made by FUL in Thailand, pleated filter material. This filter is significantly larger in diameter than the Nippon version. I'm about to do an oil change to see if it fits .

Nippon oil Filter for MR2: Also made by "Nippon", made in Malaysia, pleated material.


I went to the Toyota dealer and got a Toyota OEM filter ($4.77 incl tax) for the MR2, and this filter looks of better construction quality than the FUL filter and about the same construction quality as the "Nippon" filter.

From now on I'm buying the Toyota filter for the MR2. I'll need to buy a Lexus or Toyota filter for the Lexus and do the same comparison.

Just wanted you all to know what you're getting at the parts bin.

They're deceptive in that the pictures they use don't match up with the actual product. Back then, I assumed OEM parts based on the pictures they used. But they appear to only carry aftermarket. So if you're looking for OEM parts, avoid these guys.

The best filter you can get for your 6 or 8 cylinder (probably 4 cylinder as well?) Toyota is the 90915-20004. Nippondenso (Denso, Made in Japan). Check your local Toyota dealers for pricing. Forget the Lexus dealers...they almost always overcharge, typically over list price.

If you can't find good parts pricing locally or are in the L.A. area, you can get these from Carson Toyota for about $7 a piece. They ship UPS for those who aren't local. This is the only place I purchase Toyota/Lexus parts now.

I just installed a power steering pump and hose (+ about another $400 worth of stuff) on my '92 LS400. Part and service have been great. I had a core charge for the PS pump and missed the 14 day return for the RA#. I just dropped them an email asking to extend it and they did no questions asked.

Most of the time you get what you pay for, but in this case I feel you get more. Look at like this, it's safer than EBay!!
