Default Does this car actually have the Nav system?

Listed in his ad he mentions the Navigation system but the pictures don't look right.. I'm far from experienced on what the different systems looked like in this car so I'm hoping someone else can comment.

I appreciate your information on this.

Hello friend,

It doesn't have GPS. Nakamichi never made GPS units for our Lexus vehicles. They made renowned stereo systems for the LS400s.

The seller probably just copy pasted the info from some where.

Did you purchase the vehicle? It seems that the vehicle doesn't have the Nakamichi sound system judging by the photos.

It's being purchased for me by a 3rd party as a "gift" for some work I did for them.

I'm guessing quite a few of the "features" that the owner listed is, in fact, false. So you think it has the pioneer system.. which I guess is actually a bonus from my further reading of this board.

Do you happen to know where the heated front seat switches are located? Can you see them in the pictures (just wondering if this was also incorrectly posted).

Any guess if it's actually HID headlamps?

I'm just concerned my gifting friend will find himself in a jam when he gets down there to pick it up and half the features listed are not really there.

Oh and Thank you for your time!

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have heated seats. In terms of the HID and the Pioneer system you might call the dealer and speak with the parts guy. Give him the VIN #JT8BH28F3W0129945 and he should be able to tell you what lighting system you have. He should be able to tel you if you have the Pioneer system too.

Feel free to ask more questions.

Thanks a ton for that advice Lexuslspro.. I did call the parts department and they did confirm the HID lamps.

Now I just have to decide if I warn my friend who's obviously doing me a favor but I'll come off looking greedy/ungrateful or do I just go with the flow.

I'm far enough north that heated seats are nice to have but not so far north that it's a must have. I'm more just concerned that if all this was misstated in the AD what else was, ya know?

You are most welcome JimBright.

You know, I think your friend is about to pay WAY too much.

Private Party Value in KBB is :

Excellent
$7,425
Good
$6,900
Fair
$6,000

The mileage isn't incredibly low either.

I would call another Lexus dealer just to confirm the xenon lights. Just to be sure.

You can always add aftermarket heating for the seats which is relatively inexpensive. I find it takes a couple minutes for my heated seats to warm up anyways (2000 LS).
Be happy it doesn't have Nav as I have heard it sucks anyways and there are no current updates.
It's not hard to change out the audio if it isn't to your liking. I had the Nak system and switched it out.

it was an option for all 98-00 in the US, but was a de-facto standard in '99-00.

Just wanted to thank lexuslspro and the others for their info on this matter. I got the car, it's in amazing condition. The owner had every single service done on the vehicle with every stamp in the book. The interior is like new. I love it.

Put my 01 Mercedes E430 Sport up for sale and this will be my new fun car.
