yeah i will be going to the dealer for the plug (8.50), gasket(1.50) and filter (10.50). not bad. getting all them for 20. getting the oil from kragen or walmart. prolly just going to get 10w-40 using either penzoil or castrol gtx brand (which is better?).

i need 5.3 quarts correct?

Unless you dont like Mobil for some reason I recomend the Mobil clean 5000. It's 5w-30 like recomended. I don't know enough about or have a preference about penz or castrol. And gasket is a bad word for it. It's basically a metal crush washer.

penzoil although has changed their formula recently has had the reputation of being the worst oil! they used parafin for a long time and whoever used that oil for an extended period of time would see sludge buildup because of it. anyone ever see a valve cover pulled on an engine that used penzoil only? what a mess. castrol is very good oil, quaker state is made by the same company as penzoil. mobil one is the fram of oil. they spend tons of money on advertising but arent the best. amsoil is one of the best oils on the market. napa's filters are made by wix and are the industry standard.

you can really get everything you need from autozone. just tell them your year/make/model and they'll look it up in the computer and get you the right part. The only thing is i would go to wal-mart for the oil because its cheaper.

i will switch it up to castrol gtx for this one and continue using it. i think i will buy the jug of castrol gtx. but i heard penzoil's parafin is negligible. i will probably use mobil 1 filter. mobil 1 may not be the best but it is one of the top and good enough for me in terms of oils.
