jump around
Hey guys, its been 7k since my timing belt replacement. Im coming home from work today, and my car lost almost all power while riding with the cruise on at 65. I was fortunate enough to get the car home without hurting it............I hope anyway. As i pulled into the driveway the mil lamp illuminated. Normally i get a smile when this happens because it usually makes things easier to diagnose than those weird "shot in the dark" guessing games. Well code 13 appeared. Ive been here before, cam sensor 2 drivers side. So i ohmed out the sensor. It was in spec. I also started the car and disconnected the sensor while running. The sound of the engine changes. So id have to say-yes it is functioning correctly. The last time I had this code was after the lexus tech did my timing belt and I had to go back in and fix it. The car was off 1 tooth, after that the car ran fine. So 7k miles later same code and car has no power and idles rough, Could this thing have jumped timing? I really fiind that hard to believe, but im open to suggestions. Anyone?
Was the tensioner replaced when doing the TB service? If it is all tensioned right, it wouldn't be jumping a cog. Or there are other issues occurring. Seems like the tech isn't doing such a good job if this happened before.
The tensioner was replaced.I just got home and checked my marks and they are dead on. I guess my next step is to remove the cam sensor and take a look at it. Maybe even though unhooking it changed the rythm, their is still a problem with it. Well ill keep you guys posted, but im stumped for now
Problem solved, The car did jump timing. How that happened i probly will never know.....hopefully. Im just glad this is not an interference motor, sorry to even waste anyones time. I guess i panicked.
