Default VIP trunk

I decided that since i got my car the only mod i have done was a BOOBIES sticker, So this week i started my VIP trunk.....
finished product....

making

I bought some laminate flooring and a sheet of 1/2in ply, traced the ply wood with the trunk carpet. then made some stencils of the trunk and cut the laminate. once it was cut i clicked them together and used liquid nail to glue it to the ply wood. I then used short screws and sank into the back, making shure they didnt poke through. I did it in 3 pieces, middle and 2 sides. I did it in thirds for a couple reasons. 1 would not have been able to get it once it was built, 2 i wanted the spare compartment accessible..... I love it, and think it looks way Gangster-ish.

Hate it , do you intend on stuffing VIP's inside your trunk ?
Might as well stick a glass chandler in there.
I know what you were thinking but the application is all wrong. It looks like it belongs in a house not a car. You would have to lacquer it to factory match the rest of wood. Now it just looks like you threw some left over wood in the trunk from finishing your kitchen.

The idea is right, but I agree Skperformance.

You at least need to stain it darker or use a different wood.

Agreed with all of the above either stain it or just deep 6 it, I do like the idea if it matched the wood from the wood trim it would be *****in!

ive been wanting to do this for awhile now. Got a quick question. If its 1 whole piece, are you still able to remove it from the car? Seems like itd be difficult to fit. Or is it cut a bit smaller than the carpetted section, or 2 / 3 pc's? Not sure

The OP did it in 3 pieces, so he can get to the spare tire compartment. I like the idea but only for the support on the floor. But if you keep your trunk clean (I don't) it would be nice to have a dressed up trunk. I have more stuff in my trunk then I do in the closets in my apartment. I have no storage space at all.
