A+ on execution, not sure what to give you on overall impression though.

In fact i have it Copy-written already so law requires you pull it out and burn it! LOL. No for real post some pics. I made the post so that others can enjoy my car and enjoy their own. If every just kept their ideas to themselves the industry would die.

Default Screw your 2011 thread

Anyone ever seen where you can take old pallet boards, sand them and then create awesome looking wood fixtures for little to no price. Also, greetings from 2015

I am doing this project in the spring.
Do the three pieces move around and / or make noise when you drive?
I am planning on using hardwood (as close to my interior as possible - 2000 LS400).
I am also planning on putting in a hinged door for the spare wheel, but if the whole thing won't fit in one piece, I may have to do three like you.
Don't listen to the nay sayers, it is your trunk, enjoy it!

old thread but yes do at least two pieces or you will not be able to get it in/out with one.

did the same for my air suspension tank, but i covered it in carpet instead to dampen sound. i traced the stock trunk liner but added 0.5" extra for a tighter fit. it does not move since mine is a snug fit and the carpet adds more friction to keep it steady.

great advice. I am thinking of carpeting the bottom and sides, but leave the top true hardwood. 2-3 pieces it is i guess

You guys rock!

of course you will have to fine tune the cut once it's made which is why making it slightly bigger than the trunk mat is important.

here you can see my final main piece has a slight indent curve at the bottom for better fitment while pivoting open.

got my stuff here, not sure if they ship to canada however. no shedding, lightweight, and easy to contour around curves. i used the speaker box carpet. it's much harder to use carpets with backing.

i also used V&S adhesive 1081, found it much better than 3m! works even for the headliners!
it's been almost 2 years and the carpet is holding great. the key is to spray on both the carpet and the wood, wait for a few seconds, then apply together.

i got the glue here.

imho, if you are going to do a wood floor in your trunk, you have to at least line up and try and blend the grains together so it doesn't look like a patchwork quilt.
