What happens when you press the memory button the driver's door? If it continues the rest of the way, I believe there is something in the ignition switch that needs to be cleaned.

However, if you hear the motor but with no movement, then this may be your fix:

Try searching this forum, there's quite a few threads discussing this but the video says it all if the symptom fits.

you need to put the steering wheel were you like it. Make sure that you are in park and that your foot is not on the brake. Hold the set button and push 1 or 2 at the same time till you hear the beep. Now when you get in the car and put your ignition key in it should go to the position you set it and when you hit the button (1 or 2 whichever you set) your side mirrors and your seat, seat belt shoulder height and head rest and seat recline position should be set. I can't remember if when you put your key in it goes to the last position you set it or the memory position for the column but for sure if you hit the memory button to the position you set it. If you do not want the column to move every time you remove the key then you need to bush the button on the side of the column near the toggle button to tilt and telescope

I took my '98 LS to the dealer to have the stering wheel column disabled, if not, it is only a matter of time the motor going to break down.

Took less than two minutes for the tech to plug a handheld scanner into the OBDII to disable it.

What do you mean exactly? That's what the washer is supposed to do.

Hey guys-

I just stumbled onto my own YouTube video when I fixed my steering column last year. I'm glad you liked the video. Now I am having some transmission issues.

The best thanks anyone can give me would be to support my site www.JTpics.com even if you just rate a few of my pictures...I'm a photographer...I just fix cars when I have to.

Thanks again...glad I could help!
