Default Shaving Handles

Everyones seen the ricers with shaved door handles.
They look cool but how is done?
How much do they cost?
Anyone have pics?

Anyone know about shaving bodylines, smoothing bumper, shaving antenas, shaving emblems?

Feel free.....

shaving handles costs like 150 a handle, and you need to get popers or remote windows to open the door. But you have to repaint the door. thats what costs a lot.

shaving handles is umm shaving the door handles. LOL

it just gets rid of the door handles so it is smooth. They put a peice of metal where to door handle goes and tehy smooth it out.

Instead of shaving your door handles, why not put that money towards better mods...like wheels, suspensions, etc...

I too think shaved handles are rice on a Lexus...

Okay, thanks for the clarification. So what's the point? And how do you ope the door without handles? I assume the remote does that, but if it f**** up:eek:

I agree that there are better things to make a lexus more "trick"

u would open the door by buying a stolenoid kit which is a nuematic pump that "pops" the doors open.

you can also get remote control windows. so you can roll the window down and open the door from the inside. Just hope your battery doesn't die or you are SOL.

Default Door handles - superfluous or nice extra?

So, in a nutshell:
Hundreds of Toyota engineers spend years desiging the nearly perfect car, and yet they somehow screwed-up and put door handles on the car. Anyone's first thought on entering the Lexus lot is "Nice car, but what brainiac designed that? It would look WAY cooler without door handles. And, as a side benefit, if my remote ever broke, got lost, or locked in the car, I'd get to use the 'Jaws of Life' to pry my way back into my car".

jtparkes - Hehehe...thanks, that made me laugh!

Seriously, shaved handles can have issues you don't want. I see RICERS with shaved handles come in and out of various shops for various problems...REAL MODS, not honda-level mods. You're modding a LEXUS...

How about putting better brakes in your ride? How about some nice 20's (good ones, not POS Giovannas or Lexani's)? How about a nice JDM body kit? Coilovers? STANDARD MAINTENANCE? Etc., etc...so many better ways to blow your cash...

rice or not i like shaved door handles, just be sure you can get a safety inspection after you do it.......get a soleniod override handle (a device that you could pull to release the solenoid) kinda like the one that's found in the first-aid compartment. (for the gas tank). so that when the batt. dies, you could still open the door(s).
