i need a new battery and im getting one today. is there a certain brand or type of battery that will last long with subs hooked to it? i have a 1000 watt amp connected now and i think i need a stronger battery? help!
Generally, as long as you're not running more than 1000-1500 watts "RMS", then a good battery and 4 AWG amplifier kit will suffice. If you want a good battery, then go with the (more expensive than typical) Optima Battery. They run about 175-200 at Kragen and Autozone.
Also, make sure your cable terminals are in good condition!
yea im definately going with a more top dollar battery, just had a new alternator put in a couple months ago so mite as well just top it off and be good to go for a bit.
thanks
It doesn't matter, their all the same, unless you spend some good bucks. If you really have a nice sound system, spending money on a good battery shouldn't be a problem.
got a red top with 910cca. it holds up to my system. mine is i think 1350rms/2600peak on the amp and 2650rms/5500peak on the sub. so its a good amount.
