Default Disable Factory Security/Alarm

My 91 LS400 will not start. The remote on the key fob stopped working, and I tried replacing the battery in the fob, but it still didn't work, so I just never locked the doors.

Well, guess what? I hit the power doorlock switch by accident and was locked out. My master key ( which is the only one I have ) will not turn the passenger side lock. It goes in, but will not turn. On the driver side, the key only turns to the lock position, and not the unlock position.

I was able to have a locksmith pop open the door, but the alarm went off, and now the starter is imobilized.

From reading the posts, I understand the security system can be turned off by the button on the key fob ( mine doesn't work,) or by putting the key in either the driver or passenger doors and manually locking or unlocking ( my key doesn't turn in the locks.)

I called the dealer, and they quoted me a hefty $300 for a new key with the programming. Will the dealer get me just a regular key, without the transmitter? I believe my key is worn down to the point that it doesn't work the locks in the doors, or the glovebox or the interior trunk, but it works ok in the ignition and the outside trunk.

I just want to be able to start the car. I am not too concerned with getting a new key with the transmitter.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, and I look forward to conversing with some other proud LS owners!

Thanks

Mike

Cheapest suggestion,,, consult a locksmith and see what lubricate can be sprayed into the door locks themselves to loosen them up. Sounds like they pretty much have frozen in place due to lack of use. From time to time, even tho most of us have transmitters, it is a good idea to actually stick the key in the lock and turn it. Keeps the lock from seizing. Hopefully this may do the trick for you.

Thanks for the reply Trukn. I called some area locksmiths, and none of them will do it. One wanted me to remove the lock cykindar and bring it to him to fix it. I have heard Graphite might help.
