Lightbulb 2jz-TT Ls400

Hi guys, i own a 1995 Ls400, and i was thinking about eventually chucking in a 2jz with twins, was just wondering what some peoples thoughts are about this, and if anyone knows of somebody who has done it already?

Thankyou.

Kindest regards, Kato.

Course its been done, money makes many things happen. I've considered this build for my 1LS but rather get a SC300 and swap that.

GL & let us know what happens.

Yeah thanks guys i searched it up beforhand, didnt really find to much about it, thought it wouldnt hurt to ask.

This build wont happen for while due to laws in australia restricting me to do so, one must be 22+ (or off their P plates) years of age to drive v8/turbo/supercharged ect..

I was just looking for people opinions on the build

Thankyou for all the references! it will help alot.

Kindest Regards, Kato.

not to thread jack but im very new to the lexus/toyota interchangability world.
im seriously taken by the timeless styling and the incredible machine that is the ls400/celsior. i however much preferr a clutch transmission versus an automatic... just way too much bad luck. is there a manual transmission swap available for that amazing lexus v8 i hear so much about? or is it more resonable for a 1 or 2jjz 6spd swap (i've heard of those done before.) i dont have insane performance goals for the ls400 i have in mind, but just something clean, vip style, and unique. wheels. suspension, exhaust, and the v line full 8 piece kit are all i want to do to it with the transmission swap being the coup de grade, (i understand the sc300 may be a better platform for such a swap, but i love big four doors. so please, help i newb out and show me the enlightened path of the lexus owners world...(this would be my first lexus too and i want to do it right)

So you know:

I was once considering the 1UZ-FE engine in a locost-style roadster build. With that car, I was going to use a W58 or R154 transmission. There are guys out there that make bellhousing adapters to make it work. You'd need to go with a custom ECU but that's not impossible. I think I had a budget of $3000 + ECU in my locost build tally, and that covered every adapter, mount, etc. including the clutch.

So, to answer the question... it is possible but plan on some MONEY being spent. With that type of cash outlay, it would probably be easier and cheaper to simply install a TT supra I6 w/ a 6speed manual, and run it with the stock ECU that comes with.
