I wouldn't. Are you running an aftermarket amp? What 12" sub do you plan to use? Honestly it's not worth cutting your car up to put a 12" sub in over a 10" sub in that location. If you dont have enough bass get rid of the factory 10" sub and leave the hole open. Dynamat your rear deck (where the factory sub is mounted now) and get a sub and enclosure that fits up on the "rear deck" portion inside your trunk(that space all the way in the back of the trunk). (I have a kicker 10" L7 (square) in a sealed box (also from kicker) that fits there perfectly with no sliding around etc.. You will still have full access to you spare tire etc... without having to take your sub out. This will give you more bass than using the rear deck free-air setup. It's your car you do what you want but just remember, once you cut it you can never go back if it sounds like poo.
you can fit most aftermarket 10" sub with a mdf ring. if you want to put a
12" sub, i've seen people put it underneath the stock hole in the trunk, again with a mdf ring.
guys read closely, he wants to put two 12s on each side. i read this a while back, but i really did not have anything nice to say. i would have made a smart comment. dung0981, two 12s would not be a good or smart idea on rear deck get a box made like macd7919 said.
If you want alot of output it's not a great idea for 1 or 2 subs in the rear deck. you would be much better off, with alot less hassle, getting 1 or 2 decent subs in a sealed or ported enclosure and removing the factory sub to open up a passage way between the trunk and the cabin.
Cutting up the rear deck is a big no-no if you do not have reinforcement. It's not worthwhile to modify your deck to accept one 12" sub. The rear deck is thin metal. You're going to have problems with vibration and resonance and possibly deforming the deck if the sub weighs a lot.
Actually he only wants to put a single 12" in the hole. I know cuz I talked to him about it
I went with Free-air before and you're going to need more than a single 12" to get much output, hence why I switched back to a sealed enclosure. I need my upper bass extention
