Question 94 ls400 problem

Hey guys,
I have a problem with my BIL's LS 400. From time to time it'll run fine, but after a while it will just rev and not go. Like the tranny gears won't engage. I checked the trany fluid and is at the correct level. Color of the tranny fluid is ok. After it cools down it is able to run again. NE1 have an idea what could be the problem?

Thanks again.....

sounds like someone put in randomass generic trans fluid instead of the factory specified Toyota T-IV. it's relatively rare to see the TC go on these cars, and the incorrect fluid is most likely causing the slipping.

Thanks for you fast reply. I'll do a ATF swap. Do you think i should replace the filter as well?
