Vacuum Air Control Valve - ?
My car was running perfect.
I had the white smoke problem at start up and noticed the power steering fluid was disappearing. After reading a few threads on this board, I could see that the problem was in my Vacuum Air Control Valve -- that goes into the power steering pump.
I replaced the Vacuum Air Control Valve. Now the car runs horrible. It will start shaking and running very rough. If I let off the gas, it'll smooth out. It will occasionally run rough sitting at idle at a red light.
My question -- does it matter if I switched the two vacuum hoses that plug into the ACV? I could have mistakenly swapped them when I replaced the part. Does this matter?
Any help would be appreciated.

I swapped the vacuum hoses on the Vacuum Air Control Valve (ACV) -- and low and behold, the problems went away (mostly). The car is back to running very smoothly; however there is a slight symptom remaining occasionally.
I'm wondering if perhaps my plugs got fouled due to the power steering fluid getting sucked into the manifold, when the ACV was bad? I'm only about 5,000 miles away from a new spark plug replacement. I guess I'll plan on replacing the wire & plugs a little ahead of time.
Lesson Learned: When changing the ACV, be sure to replace the two vacuum hoses on the appropiate connections.

Toyota has a "Top Engine" cleaner that you run into you manifold by way of the vacuum line to the brake booster. This will help to clean out the inside of the manifold and etc and will burn off...it is a similar process to the Seafoam, but I prefer the Toyota product.
