Default upgrading Shocks/springs

Hi everyone i just got rims and tires and they look awsome on my 95 ls, that is the only thing i have done with the car so far i'm new. anyway when i looked i there was prolly 3 inches of clearance in the back and 2 in the front. i want to lower the car what springs, struts, shocks etc would you suggest so that it rides like stock without feeling alot of bumps. thanks everyone.

Got any pictures of your car???

Welcome to the forums!!

I'd highly recommend the Tanabe DF210's. I had them on my old 91 LS and they were amazing. They claim -1.75" F+R but they settle closer to 2".

I got them from www.luxurymods.com They've treated me (and my money) great!!

I wouldn't get just lowering springs on such a old car and run stock struts. My motto, do it once, and do it right.

If you do the springs, please do shocks.

Or just save your coin, and do a full coilover setup. Megans for aggressive, and Tein CS for conservative.

I don't know what struts are best..

I'd also like to know what a good strut is for when I decide to lower my 97

Coilovers are an expensive way to scrape your A$$ on the ground lol!

jk, coilovers are the way to go if springs don't drop you as much as you need to go, and you don't care about coming back up...

I'd rather go for an air set-up over coilovers...

I've just personally never been a fan of them.

bilstein is the best imho but they arent going to work well with the Tanabe springs because they are too soft, and will keep the bilsteins working OUT of their range (bilstein only warranties them with an approx. 1-1.25in drop)

if you are set with using the tanabes, which will not cause much INCREASE in handling and are pretty much ONLY good for looking low, then KYB would be the way to go, thought they most likely will blow prematurely as well, they're cheaper and softer than the bilsteins.

okay so what will give me good handling, lower my car a couple of inches and work with good struts/shocks.

HEEYYYY!!!! I been on KYB with H&R springs for a litle over 2 years and have not had a problem other than 1 shock which was no good when purchased. Certainly alot more than I can say for the Tokico's I was on and blew 2 complete sets under 6 months.
