Default question: is the SC400 diff same as the LS400 diff?

my car needs a new diff. is the 1992 LS400 complete differential pumpkin interchangable with the 1992 SC400's?

thanks in advance!

the internals should be but the ratios are way off.
Just look at the mounts on the pumpkin. The LS has 4 and most others have 2 or 3 only.

$$ makes it possible and the likely probability is you'll be in a custom shop.
Knowing what Toyota is, there is likely a candidate out there. Time to start looking at axle codes and the corresponding units that go with them. I suspect the carrier shells will be of comparable sizes and mounts for a couple cars. Since us stateside folk didn't get the full Toyota line there may not be the experimentation the folks down under have done with past Toyota's.

Good luck.
