Default Seat height - 98LS

My driver's seat feels like it sits high, even when adjusted all the way down. I'm pretty normal size- 5'10" but feel like I'm looking out the top of the windshield when I look straight ahead. I'm wondering if there was a dealer adjustment to raise the seat up for short drivers that might account for this (yes, I have looked under the seat to make sure there isn't an old book or something under there blocking the seat from coming all the way down). I know older US cars had minor adjustments dealers could make to move the seats slightly to accomodate unusually short/tall drivers. This is not a big deal, but I do have an oddly proportioned friend (6'4", long torso, short legs) who bought a 1st gen LS because it was the ONLY car he could find where he wasn't looking through the shaded band at the top of the windshield, so I'm a little surprised to find this is an issue.

I have the same prob....I'm 5'11" and noticed that the LS seat doesnt sit as low as my old Ack Legend. I find myself sitting like a "gangsta" in my Lex just to be able to be at a comfortable height for driving. I hate that sitting high in the seat look. ghey.

Yea, my seat is reclined a lot in my 99 LS, and I'm 6'2" also, haven't found anything to put it lower.

For once being 5'5" is a nice thing.

I'm 5'11.5" and the seat is perfect for me, not leaning back or anything unusual either.

the third gens have higher seats for some reason, and the first and second gens are the same.

u do realize the 98-00 is NOT the 3rd generation of the LS400 right....?

its still 2nd gen, 3rd gen is UCF30 aka LS430.

1995-1997 = UCF20 I
1998-2000 = UCF20 II
