By the way, when your coolant leak is really slow, you wont even see the leak. In my case, when I took everything apart to access the water pump, there was a lot of pinkish residue/paste below the water pump, which is basically dried up coolant. The bad thing about it, it leaks right down onto your timing belt idler pulleys and tensioner, doing them no good, and even gets on your crank pulley. You should try and look at your water inlet/water pump area, kind of right under the ignition coil, and see if you have any of that pinkish residue.

 

So my coolant resevoir is pretty much full, infact since I filed some fluid in it before because I thought it was low, it is now higher than desired.

Is there a way to make sure coolant is in the radiator at the appropriate level? Is there a dipstick?

 

no, assuming the reservoir is full and there are no bubbles in the system, the radiator is always full.
