Default Will these speakers work?

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...TR525CX&tp=105

FOr the front doors?? WIll it sound better. I will use them with a stock amp and stock radio. I dont want to change that.

And Ia lready have two 10' subs in the back, there is pleanty of bass, but not clean punchy bass at low volume. SO I am trying to clean the sound up a little since it looks like I'll be keeping this car for another 5- month or so.

I am also getting JL w3v2 10inch woofers later.

But are these speakers for the front door even worth changing?? Is the size correct?

And can I set them in the rear as well?? if not why not?>

Many thanks!

98. 4 inch??? jesus. Thanks

Now I am wondring if the 4 inch in specially designed facotry box works better than 5.25 just hacked in. You need the proper volume for it, no?

No, get some MMC5250 from ebay with similar price and it sounds much better.

You can also get MMC525, then separate the tweeters. It will save a few bucks this way.

i've crammed some 5.25's in mine, but it takes some work and time and it's really not worth it imo. just get some good 4's and bolt them in and be done with it.

fwiw, you'll never have clean tight sounding bass from ANY sub int he back of an LS because the fuel tank is between teh trunk and cabin, which is seperated further by a solid sheet of metal behind the rear seatback.
the only wya to do it is to build a custom box, porting the output directly through the factory sub hole in teh rear shelf.
i run 2 12" pioneer subs with a 1200 w rms diamond audio amp and it sounds ok at high volumes, but still not as clean as it could. i have a 10" audiopipe off 600w of cerwin vega amp in my jeep and it sounds 9/10 as loud and cleaner and tighter at the same time.

Or you can completely hack up your door panels and fit 7" speakers

With modern audio equipment the number one loss in sound quality comes not from the headunit or amplifier, but from the speakers. Conversely, cheaping out with $30 JL's would be a mistake. Also keep in mind that the front speakers are components from the factory, and the ones you linked are not.

It's not all about size. One of the biggest reasons for having a larger speaker with a larger mass is for good low-frequency response. All LS400's have always come with a subwoofer, and therefore 4" sufficed.

Thanks for answers. I will skip this project. Looks like margina gains for too much work and I am out of that door panel removing age to dump speakers into it.

An alternative is to go to a reputable audio shop -- Buy some 100$ speakers for all 4 doors.. and they will put them in for 'free' , or at most a nominal charge. (well worth the hassle).. Just get them that are rated to run off the factory wattage (headunit)
