The fluid in my car is brown, and definitely boiling. I have the feeling that they did not clean the filter as my pumps have only lasted 2 years each. I'll find out later if they 'claim' they have cleaned them or not but I'm not liking that they just dismiss it saying they need to be replaced every 3 years.

Anyone know of a good shop in Orange County?
Yes there is a good shop called V tech auto repair phone # 949 306 9108 they repaired my power steering 7 years ago due to a seal was leaking at 50,000 miles I also pump my power steering every 25,000 miles and put in mobil one synthetic trans fluid and no problems at 196,000 miles. I also put in a small trans cooler in line with the power steering pump which help keep down heat I also put a big trans cooler on my transmission and use mobil one synthetic trans fluid there and no problems and I drive the 91 lexus 45-55,000 a year as a sales man. I feel if you change both the trans and power steering fluid every 25,000 miles it will keep the lines clean. to clean the power steering just get a cheap pump at pepboys and pump out the fluid put more in, RUN it for 5 minutes and do this till you have exchanged 2 quarts of mobil one trans fluid. On my transmission I just un hook a line from the cooler hook up another hose fill up a gallon jar put on the hose put in 4 quarts of mobil one fluid and do it twice to change 8 quarts of tranny fluid and no tranny problems so far.
